Engineering Support Services
GK & Associates has previously provided Eastern Municipal Water District with Engineering Support Services. Three of the largest projects GK & Associates engineering staff assisted on were the Temecula Valley Regional Reclamation Facility Air Process Line Replacement, Moreno Valley Regional Water Reclamation Facility Tertiary Effluent Equalization Project, and Las Brisas Transmission Pipeline.
The Temecula Valley Regional Water Reclamation Facility Air Process Line Replacement project was to design the replacement of a corroded pipe which involved several challenges. The lead time in obtaining some of the valves needed for the successful completion was the main challenge faced; it was then decided to turn it into a design-build project with a 1.7 to 2 million dollar estimated construction cost.
Moreno Valley Regional Water Reclamation Facility Tertiary Effluent Equalization Project’s goal was to increase the capacity of the plant from what the wet well could accommodate to approximately 8.5 million gallons of treated water. It involved the rerouting of a storm drain storage to out of compliance ponds while constructing a new 48-in pipeline from the tertiary effluent pump station to the former storm drain pond. The estimated construction cost was approximately $7 million. The Las Brisas Transmission Pipeline project involved the construction of a 2,700 linear feet of 24 inch CML&C pipeline to eliminate some of the pressure deficiencies downstream of the project. The project seeks to vastly improve service to residential and commercial customers in the hot springs area of Murrieta. The estimated construction cost is approximately $1.7 million.
