Client City of Santa Monica

Reference: Mr. Jason Hoang, PE

Service: Inspection

Tenure: 2 Years

GK & Associates recently provided Inspection services for the construction of City of Santa Monica’s 1.6 million gallon reservoir under the Clean Beaches Initiative Project for Pier Project. This project consisted of a flow diversion structure to direct storm water and urban runoff from the 106‐acre Pier watershed into a subsurface facility beneath an adjacent City owned lot site. The subsurface storage facility has a storage capacity of 1.6 million gallons equivalent to the 85th percentile storm event. The stored water within the facility would be pumped to a City owned storm water treatment facility and distributed for non‐potable uses or the sanitary sewer.
Additionally, the City owned lot was improved with a new parking lot that is consistent with the City’s Zoning and Municipal Code, which required parking lot lighting, permeable pavement, and landscaping. With a total budget is $6.2 million, our field Inspection included quality control, document maintenance, labor compliance, change orders, progress payments, progress reports, material testing, equipment and system testing, start up, trouble shooting, and contract closeout.
