Municipal Plan Checker – Southern California

Position Overview

GK & Associates is seeking an experienced Municipal Plan Checker to support Southern California public agencies by reviewing public works and development plans for compliance with applicable codes, standards, and agency requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Review construction plans for CBC, ADA, CALGreen, and local codes
• Prepare clear and professional correction comments
• Review resubmittals and verify compliance
• Coordinate with agencies, engineers, architects, and applicants
• Support permit processing timelines and review workflows

Requirements

• 5+ years of municipal plan checking or civil design experience
• Strong knowledge of Southern California codes and standards
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications
• PE license and/or ICC certifications preferred

Location

Southern California public agencies (hybrid / onsite as required).

Compensation

$45 – $68 per hour, depending on certifications and experience.
